Santa Clarita is a beautiful Southern California city with plenty of things to do. It has a great selection of restaurants and a premier entertainment district.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is the city’s most popular attraction. It attracts thrill-seekers with its gravity-defying coasters. Other popular attractions include the historic Walker Ranch and the Vasquez Rocks natural area and nature center.

1. Melody Ranch Museum

Long before Santa Clarita CA was known for epic roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain,it had a rich Hollywood Western culture. Melody Ranch is a great place to see many of the old relics.

After the fire,Autry began selling off pieces of his 110-acre property in Placerita Canyon and the last 10 acres went on the market in November 1990. Renaud Veluzat and Andre Veluzat were eager to purchase and restore the famed Western movie ranch.

They have built a replica of Hickson’s main street complete with interiors such as hotels,banks,general stores and churches. They have also rebuilt a hacienda and a junkyard of old vehicles including tanks. On site,they have a props house to dress sets. They also offer scouting service for film makers.

2. Chasm Theater Connection

Chasm Theatre Connection is a great place to go in Santa Clarita CA if you are looking for live entertainment. It is a family-friendly entertainment center and it presents live theater shows for the residents of Santa Clarita every year.

The MAIN is a multi-use arts center in Old Town Newhall that showcases music,comedy,film,theatre,visual art,classes and workshops,and meetings. It also serves as a welcome center for tourists visiting the district.

Robinson Ranch Golf Club is a beautiful place to play golf,with a valley and mountain course to explore. The clubhouse has a yard relax and a tremendous supper room. You can likewise visit the Gentle Barn,a storehouse with over 170 safeguarded animals.

3. Walker Ranch

Walker Ranch,a dirt trail near Santa Clarita California,offers scenic views and a challenging hike. This hike is great for dogs and provides great exercise.

Placerita Canyon Park includes a portion of this property,which features the historic Walker Cabin as well as a nature centre and self-guided hiking trails. The cabin was constructed in 1920 for Frank Walker and family.

In the 1920s many B-western movies were filmed on the ranch. William S. Hart and John Wayne were among the many stars to use the ranch.

Melba Fisher’s Children continue to preserve the Walker legacy by giving talks and interviews for articles in newspapers. They also share historical information with local schools and groups.

4. Gibbon Conservation Center

The Gibbon Conservation Center is dedicated to the study,conservation and advancement of gibbons – small Asian apes known as the songbirds of the forest. This non-profit wildlife sanctuary is a unique facility that is home to more than 40 gibbons representing 5 of the 17 existing species.

The GCC also breeds the four genera of gibbons (Hoolock,Hylobates,Symphalangus and Siamang),provides observational and non-invasive research opportunities to students and anthropology/biology researchers and assists with gibbon rescue programs in Thailand,Taiwan,Vietnam and Indonesia. They also provide consulting services to zoos,museums and government agencies (including the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service) on gibbon identification and care in captivity.

A visit to the Gibbon Conservation Center is a unique experience as their staff feeds the animals 10 times a day and knows intimately the personalities of each. Their love and dedication to these animals is contagious.

5. Newhall Press Room

The City of Santa Clarita CA,a 35-mile (55 km) valley northwest of Los Angeles,is home to modern suburban sprawl mixed with Old West ranches and rugged canyons. The area is known as “Hollywood North” with its 20 sound stages,10 movie ranches,and the local economy it brings.

A chilly November Wednesday saw a Newhall Press Room table crowded with wine lovers,who were all enjoying their favorite vintages while munching on wild mushroom polenta. It was a high-concept tasting event designed to showcase the Press Room’s growing list of wines by the glass and its new scratch kitchen.
