A Review of the Polecats gig at the D'n'R, Sheffield on the 22nd of October 2005.
What a night! If you weren't there kick yourself now.....No.. Harder than that.
The D'n'R was packed (By the way I never did find out what D'n'R stands for, somebody let me know please)
Despite performing on a stage the size of a postage stamp and about 6 inches high! We were given a performance that was pure vintage Polecats from the opening number "Crash the Party" r
Right up until a member of the audience thought that the stage lighting needed adjusting, one large flash later and there was no power on the stage! Almost immediately Andy swapped his guitar for an accoustic one and we were treated to an a capella version of "Little Pig" or "Polecats unplugged" as it was later referred to.
However as soon as power was restored the band carried on as if there had been no interruption.
By now the audience didn't wan't the show to stop, so when the Polecats were told to finish and decided to carry on and do a couple of extra songs, the crowd was delighted.
It was odd seeing the Polecats without Boz, but Andy Neal put in a fine performance. Unfortunately this was the last European gig this year, although I'm told negotiations are already underway for next year.
